Upper Canada Village and The Village Store invite all artisans to apply to the expanded Second Annual Upper Canada Marketplace in historic Upper Canada Village on the shores of the beautiful St. Lawrence River.

Each year The Village Store receives numerous requests from artisans to display and sell their wares at Upper Canada Village. This juried marketplace will be the sole opportunity for artisans to have their work selected and featured in The Village Store at Upper Canada village.

All of the artisan's work will be judged by a panel. The panel will be selecting items that will best suit the NEW Upper Canada Artisan section of The Village Store. The items will be selected and judged based on the following criteria (but not limited to):

  • Design value
  • Artistic & creative value
  • Quality
  • Exceptional impression
  • Local crafts persons /artists
  • Village Store Fit
  • Retail price points
  • Originality
Throughout the year new opportunities will present themselves for special artisan days. In order to be featured at one or more of these events you must participate in The Upper Canada Artisan Marketplace.

MARKETPLACE DATES/HOURS:
Mother's Day Weekend, May 9 and 10, 2009
from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
April 17, 2009
SELECTION NOTIFICATION:
April 22, 2009
SET-UP:
Thurs. May 7 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
JURIED HOURS:
Friday May 8, 2009



Artisans must sign in at The Harvest Barn before setting up. Booth location and number will be given when you sign in.

JURYING:
Applicants must submit 4 pictures - 3 pictures of your current work and 1 picture of your booth setup. Label each picture with artist's name, wholesale pricing and media type.

BOOTH FEE:
Each booth space is approximately 8' x 10' and includes two chairs and one 8' table. The cost is $100.00 per space plus taxes. Make check payable to St. Lawrence Parks Commission. Extra tables and chairs are available for an additional fee. Tables will be - $10.00 ea. and chairs will be $3.00 ea. plus taxes.

DEADLINE:
Applications must be received no later than April 17, 2009.

FOOD:
Willard's Hotel will be open for the Marketplace.
Saturday, May 10 from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM
Sunday, May 11 from 11:30 AM -4:00 PM

Willard's Hotel will be serving Mother's Day lunch on Saturday and Sunday along with a special Mother's Day Dinner Saturday Night. Reservations are recommended for dinner. Call 613-543-0660 to reserve.

Snack food and drinks will be sold on site.
